My work has been described as abstraction. The term geometric optical illusion abstraction is a better description and my color selection is an important partof the compositional impact, because of the incremental, harmonic gradations of hues, which intensifies the optical illusion fo the three-dimensional effect. The shapes within are systematically planned to fool the eye leading into complex patterns of shapes that accentuate the entire concept to the eye and mind.

color and line... I am an artist. Art is about creating. Our entire life is about creating: it is our purpose in life. In my work, I transfigure every-day life. Through it, I manifest the subjective content and the personal interpretation of an invisible and fantastic universe. When I paint, I let life pass through me. Images emerge spontaneously, and I feel that they are only a prop. They are a gateway through which I plunge into my personal universe.

I am a Miami based artist. The imagery in my abstract paintings & prints has evolved through the disciplined silencing of logic. I manipulate the formal elements of color, shape, line, and texture in an attempt to evoke an emotional response or set a mood. My intention is to impact the viewer's senses in such a way as to provide an escape from the literal and a path toward introspection. The driving force behind my work is not the desire to produce objects, but rather, it is the physical act of making art in the solitude of the studio.

I do not believe a painting
should be only about emotional expression and feeling, or that it should be exclusively symbolic and intellectual; a great painting uses a rich balance of deep emotion and inspired meaning to affect the viewer on many levels simultaneously. |

I paint from everyday life. I feel I have caught up and I am now building a history through my art. When I lived in England (1989-1991) I worked in the theatre painting sets. There I developed my love for acrylic paintings. Painting larger than life lets me go beyond the subject creating colours and shapes from within. Not seen by the naked eye.

I am especially fascinated in the marine environments having been brought up aboard my parents yacht and then pursuing a career on various sea vessels. In the early 1990's I became a 'landlubber' but still remain closely associated with the sea with the good fortune to live in Australia alongside the Great Barrier Reef. My work reflects my love for the sea, its occupants, and how so very privileged we are to have such wondrous coastal lifestyles here in Australia. I love vibrant colours and I love to have a laugh; that's why all my pieces are quirky loveable characters dressed in all the colours found on the Great Barrier Reef.

As a child the music was important to me and I was dreaming myself into the world of music.I was sketching and drawing to the music.I love to be with myself and in my own world and dreaming myself away. Painting came into my life seriously when I was 20 years old. When I paint the painting itself is a fast process

My paintings are influenced by the beautiful Gulf Coast area I grew up with - the beaches, the people who love food, a good time and just life in general. I also love animals and find their own little everyday agendas pretty interesting as well. I hope my art brings a smile to your face and makes your day a little brighter. In 1990 he started to study art. Han worked in and did get inspiration from many countries, his paintings are sold in Egypt, Lebanon, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway and Finland In 2001 He moved to Norway Belgium Art Academy Ricourt - 5 years Professional artist since 1995 Technique: I use acryl and oil, I prefer oil because it is for me a more living medium, With knife and brush and the use of other materials like sand and paste I create my works. Artist Statement With brush and knife I realise my fantasy and everything which influenced my live. My feelings are clearly visible on the canvas. Sometimes tender , sometimes in a wild expression. It is the "moment between" which I desire, the moment of hope, love and fear. It is hanging between us, that's one of my driving forces The "moment between" I strive to capture: the self interpreted moment where fantasy, fiction , the fairy-tale of my live and reality flow together in a colourful expression. Colours are very important for me and are my driving force.
Edith Suchodrew |
In bold, shimmering hues and kaleidoscopic compositions, Edith Suchodrew's digital works envelop the viewer in elaborate systems of colour and shape. Fluid and luminous, her computer-generated images experiment with reflections and symmetry, representation and the disintegration of reality. Through these nebulous compositions, the artist strives to express a poignancy of emotion, a sense of freedom, and the "fragility of the soul." Born in Eupatoria in the former USSR, Suchodrew graduated from the Latvian Academy of Arts in 1981. Suchodrew's diverse visual vocabulary betrays a familiarity with various artistic mediums, ranging from traditional disciplines such as printmaking and figurative oil and watercolour painting, to contemporary media such as graphic design and animation. Edith Suchodrew has exhibited her oils, watercolors, and graphic works throughout World, winning numerous prizes and prestigious awards. Suchodrew has participated in more than 350 exhibitions internationally and 65 personal exhibitions, and her compositions are owned by museums and private collections worldwide. B.F.A. Cooper Union. Over 100 juried shows. Over 100 invitational shows. Several prizes. I have executed paintings that are parallels of many famous cities. The towers of San Gimigiano are very similar to the buildings of downtown Los Angeles silhouetted against the sky and hills. Many times I have felt that Pasadena in a storm reminds me of El Greco's "View of Toledo." The snow-capped mountains around Los Angeles have similarities to the scenes painted by Swiss and German romanticists.
