Iris Melissa
van Diessen |
Born in 1976, april 23rd,
in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. Graduated at
the AKI, art academy in
Enschede, Holland, in 2003. My paintings are about loneliness,
confusion and alienation. Seeing beauty in ugliness and the madnessof
everyday life. I let my own misfortune play a big part. I survived a
disaster (A fireworks storage facility blew up near my house in Enschede
leaving me wounded and homeless) and a lot of smaller ones. I like contrasts . Antithesa. In my paintings i use all this. There is a lot of light but also darkness. And so much colour. My biggest inpirations are old Dutch and Flemmish masters like Bosch and Bruegel. Also from a later moment in time Munch is my favourite. |

Daniel
Victor |
Night time leads the Artist 's hand towards the lines of his imagination, and, when he awakes, the colors and feeling of his imagination take shape. Born in darkness, the poetry emerging from these ageless bodies and nameless faces comes to life under the few strokes of light necessary to their almost modest revelation. That contemporary light, eternal mystery of the Artsit inhabits his universal vision of figurative art through the mirror of past centuries. Fascinated by the Human form and celebrating the depth of the Soul, the Artist invites the viewer to forget, only for a moment, the every day life and it's torments. | ||
