Most of my life I have been involved in various types of so-called
arts & crafts, in fact one of my earliest memories is of making
clay jack-o-lanterns in kindergarten. I have done leather work,
lapidary, copper enamel, copper tool, ceramic tile, reed basketry,
lanyard weaving, and other crafts in elementary and jr. high.
I learned photography while in high school, and dental laboratory
in the Air Force (which taught me the principles of lost wax casting
of plastic, gold & stainless steel.) I learned to slipcast
clay while in the Air Force, and to throw pots in my first semester
at Central Michigan University. |

I'm an artist, primarily a painter, producing original works from
my home and studio in St. Ives, Cornwall, UK.After many years
practising, working, lecturing and researching in 3D design, graphics
and multimedia, I returned to my roots in fine art, to work as
a painter. I now paint full-time, producing modern / abstract
/ minimal / landscape contemporary paintings in acrylic / watercolour
/ gouache / oil pastel. I sell my work from Blueskystudio in St.
Ives, Cornwall, and online at Blueskystudio :: chill out with
fine art...I am fascinated by the universal, the spiritual, the
meditative in art. I am inspired by haiku, minimalism, modernism,
abstract expressionism, and contemporary landscape painting. |

The painter begins his journey in 1991, in Paris, at the age of
27. The journey continues in Bordeaux, from 1998 to 2001, with
Anne d'Aressy, artist from Medoc. Here, the painter experiments
with the charcoal technique. The painter finds realization at
the atelier of the world famous artist Ousseynou Sarr, through
the use of materials as varied as mysterious : natural pigments,
spices, coffee, white of meudon, peanuts, treated paper, etc.
This art is about feeling, sensuality and relief. |

Originally from Winnebago, Illinois, I moved to St. Louis, Missouri

are now (April 25th) the proud parents of our first child, little
Charlie Bolton. While I had never stepped foot in an art museum
or gallery until I was an adult, art has played an important role
in my life since I was a kid. In college, I took a painting class
where I first experimented with abstract art. I was hooked. I
said goodbye to drawing pictures of Jimmi Hendrix and Jim Morrison
in exchange for beer and pizza and for the first time, began creating
original work. The subject matter of my art no longer dominates
my technique, but rather color, texture, and flow. |

are my personality, the joy I throw out into the world, the ebullient

everyone, the warm cradle of my being, my adventure, my embracing
gift to the world. |

My works can be described as lines and shapes that are moving,

larger scale, back to smaller scale. Lines within lines, a fluctuating
holistic hybrid of symmetry and chaos. |

I
would say that the primary reason I make my work is because it
engages me in a state of pure creativity. This state is
a very pleasurable state that allows me to travel far from the
mundane, serious everyday world into a world where anything is
possible and nothing has to make sense. No longer do rings
have to be worn, jewellery boxes can be covered in paint and eggs
can become containers for salt and pepper. I like to imagine
that what I make is a form of complete, unnecessary nonsense.
Things are taken out of their traditional environment and placed
in a surreal and absurd landscape. |

In her work, she likes taking pieces of moments that already exist.
She oftentimes finds herself capturing the quietness of a person
within the space in which they feel the most comfortable. She
likes photographs that are quiet and unsettling, as well as those
that echo real life. She is intrigued by feelings of detachment;
therefore, she tries to explore them in her photography. |

I create provocative clay relief panels based on archetypal
images derived from my unguided intuitive sketches. Each piece
tells a story. To name a piece I assemble groups of people to
exchange ideas until they come to consensus on the story and can
agree on a name. I find these interpretations stand the test of
time and tell us how to live. |

I now have my own company, where I specialise in offering Art
Workshops. I aim to teach people how to capture their thoughts

artist eyes, ensuring attention to colour, detail, expression
and tone. The next step is then to use those artistic eyes to
capture selected subject matter onto paper or canvas. |
